Classes in Jazz emphasize skill development and are intended for those students who wish to increase their mastery in these areas.
This course is designed to introduce the student to technique, style, and music awareness. The instructor will also explore a class warm-up that explores vocabulary, a variety of stretches and individual flexibility. Dance steps are learned in the center of the room, across the floor, and are eventually put into combinations. Over time dance steps will become more complicated and will continue to be learned in the center of the room and across the floor. A variety of combinations will begin to be introduced, challenging the student to apply vocabulary, technique and style.
