Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical is the captivating masterpiece from the Royal Shakespeare Company that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life. With book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin, Matilda has won 47 international awards and continues to thrill sold-out audiences of all ages around the world.
Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She’s unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her school teacher Miss Honey. During her first term at school, the two forge a bond as Miss Honey begins to recognize and appreciate Matilda’s extraordinary personality. Matilda’s school life isn’t completely smooth sailing, however – the school’s mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves to punish those who don’t abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils’ saving grace!
Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs, Matilda is a joyous girl power romp. Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.
No auditions are necessary, and all members are guaranteed participation.
ALL SCHOOL ensemble members are asked to call upon skills, technique, training, and behavior expectations established and built upon in our school year programs. Consequently, ALL CTA students MUST be registered for a class in the third session to participate in the ALL SCHOOL production.

- Students must be registered for class in the 2023-2024 school year to participate in the CTA All School Musical.
- Tuition is per 10-week session (except the High School and All School musicals, which are one-time payments).
- Classes are running 3 sessions for a combined 30 weeks.
- You do not need to be in every session.
- Classes meet once a week unless otherwise noted.
- Registration for one session will continue into the next session unless we are otherwise notified.
- Payment is not automatic, however (you’ll never be charged without initiating it)
- Please add each session to your cart to register upfront for all three sessions.
Session 1 – Monday, September 11, 2023 – Saturday, November 18, 2023
Session 2 – November 27, 2023 – February 10, 2024
Session 3 – February 12, 2024 – April 27, 2024
All School Rehearsals begin on Saturdays in April 2024 (after all CTA class times) and then continue throughout May on select weekdays (by age) and Saturdays. Performances are May 31 and June 1, 2024.3rd-
3rd-4th Grade meets Tuesdays & Saturdays
5th-6th Grade meets Wednesdays & Saturdays
7th & 8th Grader meets Thursdays & Saturdays.
Select 6th-8th graders may also be called scene work rehearsals on Mondays in May.
Junior Chorus meets Mondays only in May and Thursday, May 30 for tech.

Musical Theater classes
Our Musical Theater program incorporates the three performance elements: Dance, acting and singing. All classes are team-taught and offer students an opportunity to learn while working on age appropriate songs, basic choreography, and acting. Higher-level classes within the same program, called Performance Workshops, challenge students with progressive levels of training and more complex material.
Performance classes
Our Performance classes help you develop rehearsal skills and process as you prepare for a year-end Showcase. You’ll learn discipline, personal accountability and rehearsal etiquette as you collaborate with others in a professional working environment. You’ll build confidence and skill … and have fun doing it! We are very excited to roll out our NEW 90 minute MT Performance Classes on Thursdays. For those students who just can’t get enough “CTA Stage Time” we invite you to look into Performance Workshop 1, 2, 3 or 4. Please call the CTA if you need help with class placement.
Productions
Whether it’s for family and friends or the greater community, nothing makes learning more fun than a live production in front of a live audience. We have many opportunities for you to shine.
All School Musical
Performed in the spring, the All School Musical is open to any Center student from third grade through eighth grade. No auditions are necessary and all members are guaranteed participation.
